There is a growing industry need for high-accuracy OEM hydraulic pressure switches which can be used where space is limited. The Model PS61P Series is a family of OEM sub-miniature, steel-hardened, piston-actuator-based pressure switches. It is aimed at the hydraulic pressure monitoring of forklifts, combine harvesters, scissor lifts, off-road and off-highway equipment. They are also ideal for hydraulic power pack and wind generator nacelle monitoring applications.
 
Single-make endurance car benefits from upgraded dynamometer rig

Ginetta Cars has recently embarked on a new project to convert a Schenck 750 kW water brake dynamometer which will be fully utilised in a development project for a new Nissan V8 engine which now powers its G55 GT3 - a latest evolution endurance racing car that has enjoyed success across national and international single-make race competitions. The ex-Formula 1 dynamometer will be fully overhauled, with many of its component parts being upgraded to ensure it’s up to the job for endurance testing the GT3 engine.

For nearly 40 years this small company has pioneered improvements in aerial spraying that have become industry standards - such as advanced gate controller design for fertiliser economy and GPS-guided spraying for improved farmland productivity. Its latest development was to find a better way to determine when the airplane runs out of fertilizer.

Photoelectric sensors in the upgraded BOS 6K series from Balluff are compact, with 31.5 x 19.5 x 10.8mm dimensions. Its 70 variants provide a functional product range from start to finish with red light and laser versions (class 1) for very demanding jobs. The retro-reflective light sensor with auto-collimation is a particular highlight. Thanks to its extremely low hysteresis, it easily detects transparent objects made of glass, such as bottles, ampules or test tubes, or transparent plastic films.

Efficient operation of industrial HVAC and chiller equipment depends upon optimum temperatures of refrigerant and lubricating oil at various phases of the refrigeration cycle. Exposed and enclosed types of thermistors each have inherent weaknesses that can cause suboptimal performance. Now, glass may be the key to more reliable and cost effective temperature sensing for cooling systems. The Trémery factory, set up in 1979, is located 20km from Metz and specialises in assembly of four-cylinder diesel engines.
