Drive and motor combination for elevators offers quick and simple commissioning

Emerson Industrial Automation, Control Techniques : 16 October, 2013  (New Product)
Control Techniques and Leroy-Somer, both part of Emerson Industrial Automation, have launched a new range of variable speed drives: E200 and E300, and a new permanent magnet motor, E27, designed for the elevator market. All new products were displayed at the Interlift elevator show.
Drive and motor combination for elevators offers quick and simple commissioning
The E200 and E300 drives and the E27 motor, which will become commercially available during 2014, make installing and commissioning elevator systems quick and simple. E200 & E300 have an intuitive user interface which allows easy adjustment via a back-lit LCD keypad and rapid set-up in familiar elevator language and units. Meanwhile, the compact and silent E27 motor offers a completely new design to ease mechanical installation and to remove the constraints linked to machine room-less configuration. A central sheave allows a simplification of the chassis, while also offering full access to the sheave and traction ropes.

Optimum ride comfort is provided by the new drive and motor solution: both E200 and E300 integrate a high resolution multi-step S-ramp for start, run, slowdown and stopping, as well as an ultra-fast current loop for vibration free motor control. Advanced brake control management means the drives have no rollback on starting without the need of a load-sensor. Additionally, the E300 drive offers extra levels of ride comfort with direct to floor positioning, an advanced communications interface supporting DCP3/4 and Modbus RTU protocols, short floor operations and a black box flight recorder. In association with the E27 motor equipped with optional load cell, ride comfort is improved as the starting torque is adapted depending on the load.
