UK launch of EMI filters for renewables

CD Automation : 27 August, 2013  (New Product)
CD Automation is now bringing to the UK market the Radius Power range of UL-approved filters for photovoltaic and wind turbine inverters to 2500A. CD Automation is the unique UK distributor for the filters.

Applications over one megawatt of power form a new product category for CD Automation. The six three-phase AC power line filter families containing 60 models in total include single stage and multi-stage performance options addressing a broad range of EMI mitigation scenarios.

The products from Radius Power include those for three-phase AC inputs from 480 to 600VAC, as well as DC output filters from 250 to 1200VDC, with individual models supporting applications with current carrying capacity ranging from 25 to 2500A.

There are 27 distinct DC power line filters grouped under four product families. Both AC and DC Filters have threaded metal stud terminations on models rated up to 250A and copper bus-bar terminations as standard on models rated greater than 250A. Each of these offers a wide choice of Y-Capacitance values within their UL files, resulting in thousands of possible configurations each of which are agency approved.

“The nature of our megawatt photovoltaic and wind inverter installations varies significantly from application to application,” explains Jez Watson, managing director at CD Automation.
