The reinforced, low-stretch, non-woven belt offers excellent flexibility with superior edge durability and reduced stretch for improved tracking. Part of 3M high-performance Scotch-Brite Range, the belt is designed to work in conjuction with the 3M File Belt Sander with all of the tool’s eight attachment arms, with no compromise on cut or product life. The extreme flexibility of the belt reduces ‘chunking’, (breaking up of the web material in use) on even the smallest contact wheels. In applications including removing welds, matching or repairing a finish and turbine blade repair , the belt’s mineral is ‘opened up’ by a leading or trailing edge which continuously dresses it for extended life.
Katie Gibbs, marketing executive for 3M Abrasive Systems Division says: “Our aim in extending the Scotch-Brite Range is to offer products that will help customers perform key tasks faster, more easily and with better results. In non-woven belt applications, some belts achieve flexibility at the expense of life and cut. With the Scotch-Brite Durable Flex Belt, there is no compromise and you have the conformability and cutting power needed to access tight corners and tackle small welds and blend finishes.”
Available in three grades, Coarse, Medium and Fine, in widths from 6 mm to 1320 mm, Scotch-Brite Durable Flex Belts can be used on a file belt sander, backstand or linisher, wide belt, stroke or inline sander and Match and Finish systems.
