Take advantage of positive upturn for Manufacturing

Carpenter Box : 29 November, 2013  (Company News)
Next meeting of Sussex Manufacturing Forum – 10 December 13, South Lodge Hotel,Horsham, West Sussex, England. This event is free to attend and representatives from Forum sponsors UKTI, HSBC Bank and Carpenter Box will be on hand to offer advice on everything from lean processes to exporting and R&D tax claims.

As they head towards 2014, manufacturers and engineers will undoubtedly be keen to discuss the recent upturn in the sector as evidenced by the latest figures from the Office for National Statistics. Together with Vince Cable’s latest set of measures aimed at helping small and medium sized manufacturers through a £125 million fund released by the new British Business Bank, it’s a positive time for the sector.  The Sussex Manufacturing Forum’ December get-together will see manufacturers and engineers gathering to discuss the latest figures and share problems and solutions across a broad range of industry issues.

The event, which will consist of a series of round tables involving business owners, financial directors and high level staff, aims to help those businesses with particular issues in such areas as funding and investment, research and development, the skills gap and export to name but a few.

Chris Coopey, one of the founding members of the Sussex Manufacturing Forum and Manufacturing Partner at Carpenter Box chartered accountants and tax advisers explains:

“It’s an ideal opportunity for regional manufacturers of all sizes and from all industry sectors to network, problem-solve and knowledge-share. Many firms have managed to retain their skill bases during the financial crisis and can now think about growth, innovation and new markets, both in the UK or abroad.  The Forum aims to help members achieve their businesses aims by learning from the experience of others in the sector.”

The Sussex Manufacturing Forum will be taking place at the South Lodge Hotel, near Horsham on 10 December. Manufacturers and engineers can get more information and sign up at
